Designing for users who want proof of distraction-free experience before committing to a faith app

Overview
Faith is a mobile app that helps users cultivate meaningful spiritual practices through distraction-free prayer, guided reflections, and community connection. This was a capstone brief from 10K Designers to design a landing page that highlights key features and drives user downloads.

Where Faith Apps Fall Short
Faith seekers want to deepen their spiritual practice but face two critical barriers. Existing apps add stress instead of peace, while landing pages fail to build the trust needed to convince users to take that first step toward download.
Distraction-heavy apps disrupt spiritual growth
Most faith apps compromise privacy, force intrusive ads, and charge high costs, eroding trust in spiritual practice.

Landing pages don't communicate value clearly
Landing pages either lack depth and trust signals or overwhelm users with dense, unfocused content that buries key information.

The Challenge
Current faith apps compromise privacy and overwhelm users, while landing pages fail to build trust. The challenge is to design a credible landing page highlighting four features and driving downloads in thirty days.

Building the Experience
I designed the page to address trust before it's questioned. The flow guides users from understanding core features to taking action. The visuals reflect Jesus's life journey while aligning meaningfully with each section. Every element builds credibility as visitors move toward download.

This is a glimpse of the full design. I'd love to walk you through the complete experience on a call.
Pieces of the Whole

Every section responds to a real faith concern. Together, they build clarity, trust, and conviction
The decisions behind the design
Before jumping into design, I built the foundation by understanding the product and its value deeply, identifying the users and their specific needs, and analyzing the competitive landscape thoroughly.

What Builds vs What Breaks Trust
By speaking with users, we learned trust breaks through tracking, ads, and complexity. Our landing page addresses each concern upfront, building confidence through privacy-first messaging, clarity, and authentic community signals at every touchpoint.

Distractions and barriers quietly weaken daily spiritual growth
Spotting the Opportunities
Existing landing pages either lacked depth and trust signals or overwhelmed with dense content. We balanced both by creating focused sections with clear visuals, testimonials, and strategic feature communication.

Story Meets Structure
We aligned Jesus's life journey with landing page sections, creating parallel narrative. Each illustration reflects a sacred milestone while supporting the message, guiding users from discovery to faithful commitment and download.

Iterations That Led Us Here
We explored multiple visual directions but chose simplicity over tech heavy aesthetics. Faith seekers need calm, so we prioritized clean design, warm visuals, and clear messaging that felt welcoming rather than overwhelming

The impact of the redesign
The landing page bridges the gap between skepticism and trust. By addressing concerns before they're asked and creating emotional resonance through storytelling, the design lays a foundation for meaningful user engagement and confident downloads.
Trust signals expected to reduce hesitation: Upfront privacy messaging and community testimonials answer critical questions immediately, lowering the barrier to download.
Feature clarity expected to drive action: Focused presentation of four core features helps users quickly understand value, making the decision to download more straightforward.
Narrative flow expected to deepen engagement: Jesus's journey woven through sections creates emotional connection, encouraging users to scroll further and spend more time exploring.
Lessons from the Journey
Every redesign surfaces insights that go beyond the brief. Working on this project reinforced how rapidly user expectations are evolving and how industry shifts quietly shape what good design needs to deliver.
Designing for sensitivity requires restraint: Respect means understanding what feels sacred to users, not just avoiding offense. Collaboration and validation over personal assumptions matter deeply.
Trust architecture precedes feature presentation: Users won't engage with features until foundational concerns like privacy and authenticity are addressed first. Trust signals are structural requirements, not additions.
Simplicity requires more work than complexity: Stripping away excess and distilling features to their essence demands ruthless editing. Every element must justify its presence by building trust or guiding action.

Closing Thoughts
This project pushed me to design with empathy, respect, and intentional storytelling. Hope you enjoyed reading it! A big thank you to Aniket Jha for his collaboration, the 10K Designers community, and my mentors for their guidance and support throughout.

Bounce rate expected to decrease: A focused hero section reduces cognitive overload, giving users a clear reason to stay and explore.
CTA Click-Through Rate Expected to increase: Repositioning the CTA along the natural scroll path makes the next step feel obvious and effortless.
Average Time on Page Expected to improve: A structured layout creates a natural visual flow that pulls users deeper into the experience.
